personalSMS is one of the SmsHosting.it services that enables you to receive directly on your GSM mobile phone email messages arrived in your email box.
The service is available in two versions: Base and Plus.
The Plus version offers a 30 Mbytes mail box which can be utilized with both POP3 and IMAP4 protocols, in addition to a bigger amount of configuration settings available from the control panel.

How to configure it?
The service is fully configurable through the control panel available on SmsHosting.it.
In particular, through the control panel for the Personal SMS Base it is possible to specify:
• Email server
For example popmail.mail.com could be the POP3 mail server on which the system might check for new emails to notify;

• Username
For example myname@mail.com could be the username used to have access to the mail box;

• Password
For example password could be the password used to have access to the mail box;
Maximum security for email data treatment is guaranteed thanks to the use of the https protocol and the encrypted memorization of data in our database;

• Notification number
For example +39.393.1234567 could be the mobile phone number to which notify the email sender and the first part of the message text, until all of 160 characters available for a normal SMS are occupied.

Through the control panel for Personal SMS Plus, you will be furthermore able to specify:
• Folder
For example INBOX could be the folder on the mail server from which the messages to notify are read;

• Allowed senders
For example name.surname@mail.com; @mail2.com could be email senders whom emails you want to be notified, so avoiding to receive notifications for every message that arrives in your mail box; it is possible to specify one o more addresses, in complete o partial form. By setting up the example text from the control panel, you will be notified for every email received from name.surname@mail.com or from every sender which is part of the mail2.com domain (address1@mail2.com, address2@mail2.com, etc);

• Email elements to notify
For example, sender, body could be email components which you might want to receive via SMS.
It is possible to check off one o more fields from the following list:
- sender
- object
- text
In this way, for example, it is possible to check off just the body field, in case you want to take advantage of all the 160 available characters: doing so you will receive the email content without receiving sender and object.

How to activate the service?
To have access to this service you simply have to activate a Personal SMS account on SmsHosting.it. In case you are not registered yet, please click here.
Once entered in the control panel section, you simply have to go to the Purchasing Area and select the desired version of the Personal SMS service.
When you receive the confirmation email which notifies you the service activation, simply go to the Personal SMS section and insert all the data required to configure the service: from that moment on, the service will be immediately active!

Costs
The Personal SMS service requires a monthly fee of 2.90€+VAT for the Base version and 4.90€+VAT for the Plus version.
The cost of each single sent SMS is the one expected for your active SMS package on SmsHosting.it.
